The Reaper Rap from Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey (1991). Station. I have no concept why there’s an audio/video misalignment. It was playing perfectly from Aug 2008 to about July 2010. For some function the video is playing more rapidly than the audio. Unfortunately, I do not have the capabilities to re-upload this most non-dreadful clip. Bogus.

Resident Evil: Afterlife [Blu-ray 3D]

The fourth installment of the hugely successful Resident Evil contract, Resident Evil: Afterlife is once more based on the wildly well-known video game series, and will this time be open in three-D. In a planet ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice (Milla Jovovich), continues on her journey to learn survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an ancient supporter. A new lead that promises a protected place of protection from the Undead takes them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead – and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap.A barrage of three-D effects enlivens Paul W.S. Anderson’s Resident Evil: Afterlife, the fourth entry in the seemingly endless action-science fiction horror contract based on the well loved Capcom video game series. Plot, dialogue, and character enhancement all stay lesser considerations what’s essential right here are the set pieces that permit Milla Jovovich to unleash maximum harm to virally infected zombies, villainous henchmen, and just about anyone else who stands in the way of her stopping the dark Umbrella Corporation. Jovovich retains the blend of grit and pulchritude that have made her a fanboy ideal (even though said viewers may well decry the film’s bit of shower-scene interruptus), and she’s nicely supported by returning cast members Ali Larter and Boris Kodjoe (Undercovers) and Prison Break‘s Wentworth Miller, who, as Claire’s brother, is back behind bars in a postapocalyptic jail overrun by plague zombies. And the 3-D effects are impressive and give a shot of adrenaline to the already hyper-driven action and CGI elements. These looking for much more than what the Resident Evil contract is designed to offer–souped-up, B-film thrills–are advised to lower their expectations contract devotees really should be pleased, specifically by the film’s final scene, which (naturally) sets up one more sequel. –Paul Gaita

Small SHOP OF HORRORS – DVD MovieThe off-Broadway comedy-horror-musical hit that ran for years makes a profitable transfer to film with a bevy of massive-name cameos and two perfectly cast leads. Rick Moranis is the nebbish Seymour, who pines for flower-girl Audrey (Ellen Greene) whilst living in the basement of florist Mr. Mushnik (Vincent Gardenia). Equipment start turning around for Seymour, although, soon with he buys a tiny plant throughout a solar eclipse, christens it Audrey II, and discovers that it likes to drink blood. Soon enough, though, Seymour finds out that Audrey II, now developed to epic proportions, is in actuality a “mean green mother from outer space” that is hell-bent on planet domination. Based on the 1960 Roger Corman cheapie that featured a young Jack Nicholson, Small Shop boasts a hilarious, wonderful score by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, who would go on to revitalize Disney’s animation arm with The Tiny Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. Greene, the lone holdover from the original cast, is a ravishing, foolish Audrey, whose awkward demeanor belies a voice that could knock Ethel Merman off her feet. She’s ably matched by Moranis, whose lack of a singing voice is perfectly in sync with Seymour’s nerdiness. And Levi Stubbs Jr. of the 4 Tops supplies the lowdown, nasty-minded voice of Audrey II his rendition of the Oscar-nominated “Imply Green Mother from Outer Space” is a showstopper. As for those celebrity cameos, Steve Martin’s sadistic dentist is a masterful creation, as is Bill Murray’s masochistic patient John Candy, James Belushi, and Christopher Guest also pop up. And there was by no means a lovelier and funkier Greek chorus than the 3 Motown-fueled girls (Tichina Arnold, Michelle Weeks, and Tisha Campbell) who seem all through the film. –Mark Englehart
