Carefull with thumbs facing up or sideways. Its a big difference and engages cuff muscles. Please explain this to the illiterates. If they keep the same weight for cuff muscles they are going to end up having surgery to damaged cuff muscles. A lot of people do not know the difference it makes. I learned it the hard way and wish I could turn back time. Otherwise you seem to know what you are doing. Good luck.

I’ve dislocated my right shoulder many times before. I just did it again a few days ago. When i go to the gym to work on my back, leg, and core…can I work on my left (which has always been much weaker than my right) or will movements from my left shoulder affect my damaged one?
Thanks!

@north925 depends if it is a serious back injury if it is may need to seek medical attention. but if it is just a strain start out with either heat or ice. and some back stretches. hope that helps.. come Join us? on the SHF facebook community for more tips! facebook[.]com/scotthermanfitness

Very good. Its helping alot but you for got to tell them that after the exercise/stretches they should ice down the injured area. If they don’t inflammation can set in and make it worse than before. This goes especially for the 30yrs & over crowd.
Great vid. This route helps alot.

how do you nurse a back injury?

I had surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff. It was awful. The recovery was worse than the injury. A couple of years later I tore the other one. I used a routine much like the one Scott shows here and now the shoulder is fine. Taking it slowly and starting with low or no weights I got a full reocvery. Bottom line – this video gives some great advice.

Thank you very very much! I’m a Muay Thai fighter and have hurt my shoulder pretty bad, when I did that stretching with your hands behind your head; BOOM! Hurts like hell in the area where the muscles are attached.
Hope these excercises will get me back to compete in the sport I love!
Cheers from Sweden

a simple theraband works really well just stick it in the door and close it and you have a most of these exercises at home.
